"They are so authentic, I would not have imagined it like that," said Richard Strickland Hausen about the brilliant performance of "Mind2Mode" on Saturday.
In fact, frontman Steve Hempton displayed great versatility. Whether as Dave Gahan of "Depeche Mode", Bono of "U2" and Jim Kerr of the "Simple Minds" - the singer of the British-German cover band imitating not only the voices of pop heros, but also their typical gestures impressive and earned the cheers of the audience.

Beckum: 3 bands united in one.
`With or Without You´, `Belfast Child´or ´Policy of Truth´, who doesn´t know these songs from 3 iconic bands which have written music history?
U2, Depeche Mode and Simple Minds united in one band: MIND2MODE were in Beckum on Saturday night and they rocked the town square.
The ´summer of Beckum´ stood up to this reputation. It was a warm summer evening and hundreds of fans came to the city centre to see a spectacular music show they wouldn´t get to see every day. Because who can watch 3 world known acts in one show? The fans who came grew up with this music in the 80s and 90s. They got into the lyrics, which had in parts political background and left people thinking. That was combined with outstanding compositions.
With a quarter of an hour delay the more than 3 hour music spectacle kicked off and delivered all the big hits of the 3 Rock Legends. According to the band behind the charismatic frontman Steve Hempton they present a Tribute Show, which consists of a wide range of hits of all 3 bands. Anthems like ´Alive and Kicking´, ´Sunday Bloody Sunday´ to dancetracks like ´Just Can´t Get Enough´. It was an event for both eyes and ears and paid tribute to the 3 legends.
The band was very authentic. They played what they felt and delivered it to the audience. They started as Sample MInds and had a lot of success with that project, even performing with the original artists.
MIND2MODE is an Anglo/German project. Frontman Steve Hempton and keyboard player Simon Hayward are from England, while drummer Thorsten Ortmann, bass-player Jacky Biermann and guitarist Martin Sommer live in Hamm.
Of course they had to play encores before they had to pack up after midnight to head to their next gig - and that was in England.
The remarkable ending was set by MIND2MODE after midnight. The band started as a tribute band called Sample Minds, but now they opened their set to other bands which makes their performances even more exciting. Although they had the longest distance to travel - 2 members flew at 4 o´clock from England - they were fresh and rocked the house at the end of the festival. Respect!
I must say what the band offered to the audience was very impressive. MIND2MODE took the crowd on a musical journey through the very popular 80s, with hits from 3 bands which still belong to the greatest live-acts of the planet. All the biggest anthems such as `Don´t You Forget About Me´, `Pride´, `Where the Streets Have No Name´, `Never Let Me Down` and `Personal Jesus´ were interpreted perfectly. The audience was enthusiastic, jubilated and let the band leave the stage only after having played several encores.
